Our Tanning Solutions Contain DHA
DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is primarily used as a colorless ingredient in sunless tanning products. It is a powder, often derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane and by the fermentation of glycerin. DHA is considered the most effective sun-free tanning additive.
DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology Association, Canadian Dermatology Association and the American Medical Association as a safer alternative to sun-bathing.
The Longest Lasting Tans Start Before You Go To The Salon
This means getting your skin in the best possible condition prior to treatment, since the better its condition, the better and longer lasting your tan will be. Start exfoliating three days prior to your new spray tan, and make sure any waxing is completed 24 hours prior to spray tan application (This will help you avoid a less than desirable dark pore look).
Once the darkening effect has occurred, your tan will not sweat off or wash away with soap or water. It will fade gradually over 3 to 10 days.
How To Take Care Of Your Spray Tan After The Salon
Exfoliation, prolonged water submersion, or heavy sweating can lighten the tan, as these all contribute to rapid dead skin cell exfoliation, so it is very important that your follow up with important after care.
Moisturizing is key but it can also be your tans undoing. Proper hydration is what will make your glow last but an oil rich formula will make it come right off. Use a very basic lotion that is not oil based and moisturize in the shower or right after.
TIPS & TRICKS
Don't underestimate the power of a good tan. A spray tan can even out skin tone, hide imperfections like stretch marks, scars and cellulite, reduce redness, define muscle definition, sculpt flattering curves and give you instant body confidence.
Tan two days before a big event. If you are getting married on a Saturday, book your mobile spray tan appointment for Thursday evening. You can sleep with the spray tan on for full development and then have the next day for the tan to settle or to retouch any areas if needed.
